ЁЯЪ┤‍♂️ Pedaling Beyond Limits: My Experience at the HCL Cyclothon 2025

On a crisp morning in Chennai, under a sky sprinkled with pleasant drizzles, I stood at the starting line of the HCL Cyclothon 2025, ready to take on the 24 km MTB Amateur Race. The weather couldn’t have been more refreshing—the cool breeze and light rain transformed the ride into not just a challenge, but a memory to treasure.

ЁЯМЯ The Ride: More Than Just 24 Kilometers

The track tested every cyclist—steep inclines, sudden descents, and unpredictable terrain. Mountain biking pushes you to be present in every moment, to calculate every turn, and to endure through discomfort. Each uphill climb was a test of patience, while every downhill rewarded with joy.

One of the highlights was the volunteers stationed at every 5 km. Their cheers, hydration support, and motivating words kept our spirits high. In moments of fatigue, that encouragement felt like a second wind.

ЁЯТб Leadership & Resilience on the Track

This race reinforced timeless lessons that extend far beyond cycling:

  • Endurance matters – Success is built on sustaining effort, not short bursts.

  • Adaptability is key – Just like in business, the race demanded adjusting to sudden changes.

  • Resilience drives growth – Whether it’s a tough climb or a professional challenge, bouncing back makes the difference.

ЁЯФз The Power of Planning & Preparation

Behind every smooth ride is unseen preparation. The cyclothon reminded me that:

  • Practice builds consistency – Regular training is the foundation of endurance.

  • Machine care ensures performance – Checking gears, tuning brakes, and maintaining tire grip proved as critical as personal fitness.

  • Planning reduces setbacks – A well-prepared cyclist, like a well-prepared leader, is ready for any terrain.

ЁЯМ▒ Fitness, Balance & Lifestyle

Cycling has always been more than sport for me—it’s a lifestyle choice. It keeps me balanced in a fast-paced professional world and helps me stay physically strong, mentally calm, and emotionally grounded.

For leaders, health is not optional—it’s the backbone of sustained performance.

ЁЯдЭ The Bigger Picture

The HCL Cyclothon brought together a vibrant community of amateurs, enthusiasts, and professionals. Riding alongside them, sharing stories, and pushing through challenges reminded me that growth is collective, and inspiration is contagious.

ЁЯЪА Closing Thoughts

Crossing the finish line of the 24 km MTB Amateur Race was more than a personal milestone. It was a reminder that whether in cycling, consulting, or life, success comes through preparation, resilience, and the courage to push beyond limits.

With pleasant weather, cheering volunteers, and valuable lessons in discipline, the HCL Cyclothon 2025 will remain a special chapter in my journey.

Here’s to many more rides, challenges, and opportunities to pedal forward in fitness, leadership, and life. ЁЯМЯ

ЁЯО╜ BIB Collection Experience – Forum Vijaya Mall, Chennai

Every big event begins with small but exciting steps, and for the HCL Cyclothon 2025, the journey truly started with the BIB collection at Forum Vijaya Mall on 19th and 20th September.

Walking into the venue, there was an immediate sense of anticipation. Cyclists of all categories—MTB, Road, Amateur, and Professionals—gathered under one roof, each one picking up their BIB number, event kit, and essentials for the big day.

The atmosphere felt more like a festival than a collection drive:

  • ЁЯУ╕ Selfies & Smiles – Riders clicked pictures with their BIBs, capturing the spirit of participation.

  • ЁЯЫН️ Event Expo – Stalls showcased cycling gear, nutrition supplements, and accessories, sparking conversations about training, diet, and equipment.

  • ЁЯдЭ Community Connections – It was more than just collecting a BIB—it was meeting fellow riders, exchanging tips, and building the pre-race excitement.

  • ЁЯОд Volunteers & Organizers – Friendly volunteers ensured smooth registration, guided participants, and shared important race-day instructions.

For me, holding the BIB in hand was symbolic—it wasn’t just a number, but a commitment to the ride ahead. It made the challenge real, and the excitement doubled with every passing hour.

As I walked out of the mall, I could already visualize the starting line, the track, and the finish. The BIB collection day wasn’t just about preparation—it was about building momentum, creating connections, and fueling the energy for race day.

ЁЯО╜ BIB Placement & Stickering Guidelines

During the BIB collection at Forum Vijaya Mall, clear instructions were shared on how to correctly place the stickers and BIB for smooth identification and race tracking:

  • Cycle Sticker – Fold in half and secure to the seat-post or front of the cycle.

  • BIB – Secure to the back of the shirt using 4 safety pins.

  • Thigh Sticker – Place on the left side of the thigh for visibility.

  • Helmet Sticker – Fix securely on the left side of the helmet.

⚠️ Note: Wrong placement of stickers can result in no official race time recording, so accuracy was emphasized.
